DEER SEASON Archery Hunting runs from October 1st - 31st Firearms Hunting starts on November 11th and lasts for nine days. TURKEY SEASON Fall turkey hunting runs from October 16th - 29th Spring turkey hunting is from April 24th - May 7th Both usually offer a one bird per week but check the bag limit for changes. SQUIRREL SEASON Opens May 29th RABBIT SEASON Opens October 1st QUAIL SEASON Opens on November 1st. WATERFOWL SEASON Dates vary but the announcements are made in August. HUNTING LICENSES Anyone between the ages of 16 - 65 years need to purchase one. Senior citizens and children are not required to get one however, kids under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a licensed adult or have taken a hunter safety course. Most importantly, all ages are required to have their deer or turkey tags, waterfowl stamp or trout stamp to hunt those species. No exceptions! MISSOURI RESIDENTS If you are a resident the state gives you a break on licenses pricing. While normally the cost for a fishing or a hunting license is $8.00 each, if you opt to purchase both then the cost is only $14.00.
